i found an example of slinkard's more musical work on another page. i emailed him because the song reminded me of a specific old video game. he then proceeded to send me a whole CD of music he made in the early 90's with the ensoniq sampler synth. what was it? like the sq-80 i think. really goofy tunes, but an excellent example of the potential of that old technology, and made even more novel knowing that he gained at least some recognition reproducing the old star trek sounds
